Some have been sandblasted all over for a matt, stone-like look. The image is glossy, and they are translucent when held up to the light, but they have the grainy appearance of stone.
Some are polished all over and have a wonderful smooth feel and a shiny look. Many are fastened to their cord with a simple loop, and some are lashed at the top, a skilled and time-consuming process.
